Williams Lineages Underway

This section is for people to post the various Williams lineages they are working on. This is an effort to publicize that brick wall you may or may not be hitting in hopes of finding others who either have information or are at the same wall. This section is now in a database and to make surfing the entries easier, I have set it up to display 15 lineages at a time. Simply use the next and previous buttons to navigate around!

And, as another improvement to the site, you can now add your own lineage to the list without having to email me directly! Simply visit the lineage submission form and follow the instructions! It's as easy as that!

My research is mainly around trying to identify my ggggrandfathers, EDWARD WALSH WILLIAMS, father who is believed to have arrived in America (NEW YORK) from WALES, married to or marrying enroute Lydia Catherine (Walsh?) "Reingard(sp)" Williams. Edward Walsh Williams joined the army in New York and was assigned duty in the Indian Territory being stationed in Little Rock Arkansas where he met and married (1839) Eliza Berry Owen (1819), moving from there to Hope, Lavaca County, Texas where-in my family began to grow, his son Edward Walsh Williams Jr.(1848), then my grandfather Walter Lee Williams (1873) who married (1896) Mattie Geneva Granberry (1872) whose family dates back to early America. I am trying to identify Edward Walsh Williams Father and other members of his family, brothers & sisters and where they went. Edward Walsh Williams born May 11, 1813 in New York City, died in La Vaca County Texas September 24, 1875. Very likely had a sister named Nancy (1812 New York) and possibly brothers J.S., Henry, and Arthur unproven

I have been unable to find JRM's parents or siblings.
I found in the 1870 Census of Henry Co, AL, a James Williams, age 8, in the household of William Suggs.
According to an interview question from 1890 or 1900 Census, JRM's father was born SC and mother born GA.
I found an 1860 Census listing of Henry P Jones, marr. to Polly Trotter, with 5 children born in GA and daughter Aletha, age 1, born AL.
In 1900 Census, Olevy Jones, Arlethia's sister, age 33, was living in household of JRM. She is buried at Rocky Branch, also.

Looking for the lineage of Nancy Williams born about 1782.She was married to Thomas Collins from Wilkes County, North Carolina. The family moved to letcher County, Kentucky. They had at least 9 children. I presume that Nancy Williams was from the Wilkes or Ashe County area of North Carolina. She also might have come from across the state line in Virginia. She died in 1865 in Letcher County, Kentucky. Sincerely, Ben Banks.
