Native of Spartanburg County; daughter of the late William Curtis and Josie Scruggs Lawson; member of Piedmont Baptist Church; retired school teacher in dist. 2; member of Retired Teachers Association.

Serviving; son, Billy Jack Williams of Chesnee; brothers, W.C. Lawson Jr. of Tryon, Osborne Lawson of Buena Park , Calf., Wallace Lawson of Cowpens; two grandchildren.

Services 3 Sunday at Piedmont Baptist Church by the Revs. H.E. Benfield, Charles Hyatt, Hubert Finley and Herbert Adams; burial in Piedmont Baptist Church Cemetery . Pallbearers; Jimmy Lawson, Joe Bill Lawson, Bryan McCarter, Hubert Bridges, C.L. Cartee, Howard Jolly; honorary escort will be senior citizens of Piedmont Baptist Church. Obituary:  Gaffney-Effie D. Williams Sentell, 82, of Route 3, widow of Palmer Sentell, died Wednesday in Cherokee Memorial Hospital . Native of Cherokee County ; daughter of the late George C. and Lenora Reynolds Williams; member of New Pleasant Baptist Church .

Surviving: daughter, Mrs. Fairey Beatty of Gaffney; sons, Lemuel Sentell of Gaffney the Rev. Lamar Sentell of Norfolk , Va.; sister, Mrs. Eva Lamb of Gaffney; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren.

Obituary:  Gaffney-Tuesday, January 22, 1946, Miss Eliza Louisa Williams, 78, died at the home of a niece, Mrs. Leona Hayes of Cowpens, Route 1 today. Miss Williams was the daughter of the late Noah and Harriett Williams. She is survived by 17 nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 Thursday afternoon at New Pleasant Church by the Rev. Lee W. James assisted by the Rev. E.W. Buckner.

Pallbearers will be Clyde Williams, Robert Webster, Wardlow and Joe Evans and Earl Henderson.
The body will be at the home of the niece until the hour of the service. The Blackwell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
