Williams Lineages Underway
This
section is for people to post the various Williams lineages they
are working on. This is an effort to publicize that brick wall
you may or may not be hitting in hopes of finding others who either
have information or are at the same wall. This section is now in a database and to make surfing the entries easier, I have set it up to display 15 lineages at a time. Simply use the next and previous buttons to navigate around!
And, as another improvement to the site, you can now add your own lineage to the list without having to email me directly! Simply visit the lineage submission form and follow the instructions! It's as easy as that!

I will try to summarize the results for Group 60 on you Williams DNA web page.
Patrick Williams b. abt 1730 d. abt 1776, Mecklenburg Co., NC>John Williams , b. 12 Apr 1762, Kent Co., MD d. 15 Aug 1822, Union Co., SC> Major John Williams b. 12 Oct 1791, Union Co., SC d. 4 Sept 1867, Hancock Co.IL> Ruel W. Williams b. 1813 AL or TN d. Mar 1879 near Seligman, Barry Co., MO.
Patrick arrived in June 1749 with the expedition under Edward Cornwallis to estasblish the 14th Colony in Nova Scotia (Halifax). Patrick was accompanied by a son, wife, and female servant. Apparently the son did not survive. Patrick moved to Cecil County, MD where Margaret Williams was born abt 1751. Apparently the 1st wife died and Patrick remarried about 1761 to Elizabeth, widow of Samuel Barnett in Kent Co., MD. Margaret married William Houston in Mecklenberg Co., NC abt 1775. Patrick bought 143 acres of land in Mecklenberg Co., NC 19 Jan 1767 on 4-Mile Branch.
I am the sole descendant of this line that has completed the y-DNA up to 67 markers.

I am trying to locate the ancestors of John C Williams that was born in Camden County South Carolina about 1805 and married a Francis Robinson there, before migrating to Henry County Alabama. His decendants moved on from there to Texas, Oklahoma, and points west. It has proven to be a brick wall at that point of S.C. to find a Williams beyond John in 1805. Even though I have them listed up to today.

I am tracing John Williams (living), son of Thomas Fouts Williams/Mattie I.L. Burnham, son of Daniel Green Williams, son of Daniel L Williams/Lavisa Brazil.
This is my wall. I thought I had found Daniel Williams, but believe I am mistaken and he is not the son of Josiah Williams and Judith Elmore. Lavisa Brazil seems to only exist as his wife. I cannot find birth nor death records for her.
Can anyone help?

My great-grandfather was Dud Lee Williams, born March 1881 in Montgomery Co.,Ga. He 1st married Columbia Walker of Telfair Co. and had one child. After Columbia died, he married my great-grandmother Carrie E. Sharpe with whom he had 7 children, and they lived in Montgomery and Toombs Cos. His son, Joel Dudley (known as JD) Williams, told me he knew HIS grandfather (father of Dud Lee) as Joe or Joel Williams. Joe's wife was Fannie Grimsley. I have found one census record, 1900 Montgomery Co., Ga. that lists the family with Joseph S. Willimas as head of the household, his wife Fannie, and their children, including Dud Lee. Fannie Grimsley was from Twiggs Co., Ga. I have been unable to go back any farther than Joe Willams but have found some info about the Grimsley family. The date of birth (1838) listed for Fannie is suspect in the 1900 census since other records indicate she was born around 1852. I have no idea if the date is correct for her husband, Joe. I am looking for any info about this Williams line, including siblings and parents, etc. of Joe Williams.
