Williams Lineages Underway
This
section is for people to post the various Williams lineages they
are working on. This is an effort to publicize that brick wall
you may or may not be hitting in hopes of finding others who either
have information or are at the same wall. This section is now in a database and to make surfing the entries easier, I have set it up to display 15 lineages at a time. Simply use the next and previous buttons to navigate around!
And, as another improvement to the site, you can now add your own lineage to the list without having to email me directly! Simply visit the lineage submission form and follow the instructions! It's as easy as that!

My brick wall is my great grandparents. I have been unable to find any information on my grandfather, Leonard Samuel Williams, born sometime around 1896, died January 1974.
I have been told he possibly had a twin who died at birth. Other than that, and not sure if even that is true, I have been able to find nothing that tells me the names of my great grandparents.
My grandfather was married to Mary Ellen Ferguson. They had 6 children, James S., Charles, Glenn, Herbert, Margaret and Malcolm, all born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

I am seeking information on my maternal Great-grand mother Elisha, Eliza, or Elisha the daughter of Elijah (Eliza) Williams. Some say she died in Atlanta Georgia around 5 years or so after the birth of my grandmother in 1903. That would put her death sometime around 1908 give or take a year or so. My Great-grand father (Milton Williams)was killed when a barrel crushed him as he was unloading supplies from his wagon. I hear he to is buried in Georgia. Me and my sibblings are descendants of an african-American branch of Williams which according to my grandmother Rosa Lee said our ancestry originally came up from Jamaica. It is also possible that my Great-grand mother might be a mallato from her description. My Great Grand father was African-American from his discription. My Grandmothers said her Mother Elisha Eliza Williams married a man called Milton Williams, they had several children. My Great grand mother died in child birth with my grandmother's baby sister Olivia Williams. My great-grand father re-married. but I was told little of the second wife or of the children as my grandmother said she left home after her mother died and went to stay with a sister. My grand mother who was born Feburary 2nd 1903 as Rosa Lee Williams in Cairo Georgia. At that time she had 3 older sisters (Betty, Emma or Imma and Ella) and I think a brother who may have been named (Andrew or Thomas). my great Aunts Betty and Emma died some time before 1960. down south prabably in Georgia, but not sure. My grandmother made it to Ohio where she met up with her sister Ella Lou Williams who was now marrried to Melvin Maddox. My grand mother's marrried name was Eastman. She died in Ohio in March/April 1974. My grandmother Rosa lee lost contact with her baby sister some time in mid to late 50s and at that time my great Aunt Olivia lived in Flordia. Both Ella and Rosa are buried in Cincinnati Ohio.

I am of the Daniel Ike Williams and Malinda Polk Williams line. Of not also of tjhe William Cates and Mahila Polk Cates line. It would seem their great grand children got married. I am lookinf for others of thsi line. I am suprised to find a Williams that was a Democrart. This line has been almost one hundred percent Republican and Whig before that. The Polk's were Demcrates being second cousins to James Knox Polk.

I can't determine my great grandfather or great-great grandfathers'names,b.d.,birthplace and ancestry. - My grandfather, also Thomas David, was born in 1877 in Wisconsin, probably in Iowa, Dane or Dodge County. Moved to and died in Madison, WI about 1969. His father's name was John, possibly John Morrison Williams. John Morrison's father may have been Thomas Hezekiah Williams, per Iowa county records,WI. My great-great great-grandfather allegedly came from Aberystwyth, Wales.

Seeking contact who is researching Abraham and Salley Williams of Pittsylvania county, Virginia where they married in 1803. I'm interested in knowing who their children were. I have no information about their deaths or where they might have immigrated but one child, Harmon, is listed in the 1840 Federal census of Missouri. Abraham and Salley are listed as his parents in his marriage record in 1841.
