Williams Lineages Underway
This
section is for people to post the various Williams lineages they
are working on. This is an effort to publicize that brick wall
you may or may not be hitting in hopes of finding others who either
have information or are at the same wall. This section is now in a database and to make surfing the entries easier, I have set it up to display 15 lineages at a time. Simply use the next and previous buttons to navigate around!
And, as another improvement to the site, you can now add your own lineage to the list without having to email me directly! Simply visit the lineage submission form and follow the instructions! It's as easy as that!

Researching Williams family in north Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas and Arkansas. My grandfather was Edwin Williams, son of John Wesley 'Tobe' Williams, of Ruston, Louisiana. His father was Elekious Williams, although I only ever heard him called "Leakey". My Brick Wall seems to be that I am looking for evidence of connection beyond Leakey as well as something to confirm his name. Most people I have been in contact with have connected him with Electious Williams, but even that I am not sure of.

I am looking for information on my 2nd great granmother's family. Her name is Fannie Williams. She married Lovett Goodrich. Her father's name is Richard Williams, born about 1796. The trail runs cold for me there. She was Cherokee Indian.
Her daughter Nathaniel (Nathaniala?) Missourri, b.1858, my great grandmother, married Shadrach Mayshack Pruett.
Their daughter Alta Melvina, b.1896, is my grandmother. She married Andrew Jackson Barker and had nine children one of whom was my mother.

John Anderson Williams was born somewhere in Ohio about 1812. He married Hannah Turner in 1836 in Perry County, Indiana. A probable brother was Thomas Williams who married Sarah Turner also in Perry County, IN. A third possible brother is Samuel Williams who married Elizabeth Turner. By 1850 John was living in Saluda, Jefferson County, IN and later lived in Bethlehem, Clark Co., IN. A possible father to John Anderson Williams listed on Ancestry is John Henry Williams who married Rebecca Ross. John Henry Williams supposedly died in 1835 in Darke Co., Ohio. Ross families also lived in Bethlehem, Clark Co., IN. I've uncovered no documents to prove this relationship. Any help finding the father of John Anderson Williams is greatly appreciated. No descendants with the surname Williams have been available for DNA testing.

Am looking for information on Bertha Williams.
At a young age, 16-19 years, she married a David Moss who was quite a bit older, 60-65 years of age. She had two daughters, one of which is my grandmother, Ethel/Esther Moss. She remarried after her husband died.
I have little information on Bertha. She may have been born in Missouri and later moved to Oklahoma.
I believe she comes from the Williams line that includes Henry and Ransome Williams.

My earliest recorded is a approximate DOB for David Williams of 1755 born in Wales. He came to the US around the age of 14 with no other family. His ship was wrecked and most of the other passengers did not survive. he went into us starting in Philadelphia, PA and married Margaret Lyons, they later moved to Ohio where the Williams family on my side remain to this day. But Im looking for his family in Wales which is proving to be difficult to say the least.
