Looking for Harlman (Hi) Williams from KY or TN. Married Malanda Woodson abt 1870s. Heard they had many children..all died except James Laton Williams (b. 1884) and William Murphy Williams (b 1886).
Story is that Malanda was Indian. Hi died abt 1890, some epidemic with most of their children. Malanda died 1918 in TN.

Have been lookiing for this man and wife for years.

Great-Great Grandfather: Washington Williams (16 July 1809 - 20 August 1888 in Putnam, TN)

Unclear who Washington Williams' father was or where he came from exactly. One of the censuses after the Civil War had his father coming from North Carolina; however, that far back Tennessee was a county of North Carolina. I found a James Williams who lived in South Carolina with one of his sons named Washington Williams.

Also, great-great grandfather may have been named Washington F. Williams.

Trail is pretty cold.

I am working on my daughter's geneaology. We had a stumbling block with almon h. Williams my daughters great great grandfather. We are pretty sure that Joseph d Williams and Ellen Rideout of bath maine were Almon's parents. We are now at a brick wall with Almon's grandparents John Williams born in Madeira Portugal and Candance?

I am getting stuck with John and Jane Williams. They arrived in Gold Hill, NC in 1854 from Cornwall England. John was a miner, and worked as a foreman in the Gold Hill mines. He arrived with his wife Jane. John G., Henry, Thomas, William, Richard, Jane,& Wateree. Two more children were born in NC, Patience & Eliza. Wateree was born on the boat on the way from England. Henry and John G fought for the confederacy in the Civil War. John G. was killed at Malvern Hill, Va. on July 2, 1862. Henry survived the war and moved to Wadesboro, NC where he died in 1909.

Jane died in 1865, and John married Mary Bringle in 1866. My GGgrandfather was born of this marriage. His name was Charlie Lee Williams. He died in 1966. Any help will be appreciated.

Brickwall is partial DNA of a Ruby Lee Williams who gave up a daughter for adoption in St. JOseph Mo. APril 1923 SHe was named Virginia Lee WIlliams. Not sure if WIlliams is in my maternal lineage. MAternal LIneage is Rose>Linton>Dyer>ROwland> etc.
Y DNA is from WIlliam Rose born 1847 his mother was a Turnbow. We believe she died abt 1850 coming in a wagon train from TN to Ark. In abt 1855 some of the Turbow families moved to Bosque, TX.

My sister in laws Great great grandparents were Benjamin J & Catherine (Tyler) Williams..They were born in Hudson, NY and Ithaca NY respectively..They moved to Ohio then onto Illinois in 1863,,Her great grandfather Charles born on Oct. 23, 1854 had 5 siblings..He married Catherine (Bible)Fry in 1887 and in 1888 moved to Allison park, Ill where he purchased 700 acres of land before moving to CA in 1912 and became a pioneer in the development and colonization of what is now Fresno, CA..We are looking for siblings names, land deeds that show where he bought his land and any other pertinent history to our family..

Williams, born 22 Sep 1818 probably in TN but maybe in VA; married around 1839 Lucy Ann Kinningham; died 29 Aug 1889 in Manchester City, Coffee Co, TN. 1850 census said he was a taylor in Coffee Co., TN with no real estate value. 1860 and 1870 censuses he was in Manchester, Coffee, TN. 1880 census he was living in Manchester with his son, Allison. Any help would be very much appreciated. There were other James Williams persons living around this time in this area, so it is difficult to track down his family.
