Williams Lineages Underway
This
section is for people to post the various Williams lineages they
are working on. This is an effort to publicize that brick wall
you may or may not be hitting in hopes of finding others who either
have information or are at the same wall. This section is now in a database and to make surfing the entries easier, I have set it up to display 15 lineages at a time. Simply use the next and previous buttons to navigate around!
And, as another improvement to the site, you can now add your own lineage to the list without having to email me directly! Simply visit the lineage submission form and follow the instructions! It's as easy as that!

William Williams [1805-1890] b. Denbighshire, Wales, m. Alice Parry, 25Dec1827, d/o John Parry & Margaret Jones of Groesfford, Llewesog, Llanrhaeadr, Denbigshire, Wales. In late Jan. 1833, William & freinds while poaching were accosted by Game Keepers of Lord Dinorben, arrested, tried and sentenced to 14 years Transportion. Wm. & Alice had 4 children, , Hannah, John & William, b 26Sep1833 by which time father William was on board the ship Isabela headed for AU. William, b. 1833 m. Unice Roberts 1May1855 & emigrated to Wisconsin 1868. They were parents of my grandfather Joseph Williams, b. Caehun. Both John & William were master millers. William Williams returned to Denbigh from AU 1880 & d. 11May1890. My father was Mack Armon Williams [1895-1852] & mother Ruth Frances Davis, both b. in Oklahoma. To date I have not determined the parents of Wm. Williams [1805-1890]. The name Armon suggests he may have been named after Llanarmon in Denbighhire which may be the place of Wm's nativity. Any recommendations? Joe

We've been working on my grandfather's family line but hit a wall only a few generations back. The line looks like this:
Paul Williams (1915 - 2007)
Ola Angus Williams (1883 - 1964)
Elijah A Williams (1849 - 1924)
Richard S Williams (1806 - 1876)
Everyone was from Indiana (Scott county mainly) but Richard who was born in Gallatin County, Kentucky. He married Lucinda Lansberry, from Woodford county, in 1829, and we speculate they moved to Indiana in the mid to late 1830s. This is about all we can find on him. We cannot find a Richard Williams in Gallatin or Woodford in the 1830 census that would fit the family. Their first child, Charles, was born in 1830 but we don't know if that's before or after the census.
We did find a Mary Williams in the 1830 census which could be Richard's mother since she doesn't have any other women in her household until 1830. But outside of that we have no link between them. Any information would be great.

I am searching for the parents of David Williams who died Feb. 8, 1844 in Sparta, White Co., Tenn. He and his wife Sarah Phinney Matlock had returned to Sparta after visiting in Missouri with their 4 children. They both were sick with a fever and died within 2 days of each other. I only know one of the children's name as he is my direct ancestor and that is Elcana (Elkanah)David Williams "Cain" who became a doctor and practiced in White Co., Tn. He was raised by his Grandfather William H(?) Matlock, a slave trader.

I am searching for the Williams line from NC. What I have so far is quite a bit from oral history of my husbands grandmother.
Beginning with Alvin Williams, since everyone after him are all still living.
----Alvin Williams b 1907 Yancy Co, NC
d 14 SEP 1963 Buncombe NC
----Alvins father;
Pitman Williams b JUL 1869 Yancy CO, NC
d 10 DEC 1950 Polk, NC
-----Pitmans Dad;
William Williams b 1837 NC
-----Williams dad;
Pitman Williams b 5 AUG 1810
d 20 JAN 1894 Yancy Co, NC
I may have some of them wrong, or mixed up, but I don't think so. I went from census records and family history that I have verified. Any help getting past Pitman would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance =)

I would like any information about Edward Williams born ca. 1725 (London England?) and died July 1824; buried probably in West Flamborough. The WF Municipal cemetery has as # 104 "Williams" - no given name or dates provided. Is this likely the right grave site? We (a network of cousins tracing the ancestors of Barnabas Howard, born Lansingburgh 1791 and died Lynden 1835 of Lynden)think that Mary Howard Odell, mother of Barnabas Howard, may have been a daughter of this Edward Williams.
Edward Williams 1725-1824 is the subject of a lengthy obituary entitled "Longevity" which was published in the Colonial Advocate.I would be happy to forward this to anyone who is interested. The source of the information is given as "Mr. B. Howard, grandson of the deceased".
So one question would be how many B. Howards were in West Flamborough at that time?
Please contact me if you can help or would like a copy of "Longevity".
