Williams Lineages Underway

This section is for people to post the various Williams lineages they are working on. This is an effort to publicize that brick wall you may or may not be hitting in hopes of finding others who either have information or are at the same wall. This section is now in a database and to make surfing the entries easier, I have set it up to display 15 lineages at a time. Simply use the next and previous buttons to navigate around!

And, as another improvement to the site, you can now add your own lineage to the list without having to email me directly! Simply visit the lineage submission form and follow the instructions! It's as easy as that!

William P Williams, Born 1795 Lincoln Co., North Carolina. Married to Catherine Haase 1802, North Carolina. Sibling: Milly 1834, Jacob 1824, Frederick
1828, Henry 1835, Thomas 1837, Catherine 1840, David
1843. Wm and Catherine move from NC to the Morgan County, Indiana area around 1830-1834.

William's family forward is well documented. From Wm backwards, locating who his parents were is the challenge. There appears to be a connection to Charles Williams-1770, and Elizabeth Bradshaw-1779 but can not be documented.

I am seeking information on both the ancestors and descendants of Joseph F. Williams, born about 1837 in Tennessee. Joseph lived in the Sumner County area of Tennessee and is believed to have married a Margaret Callis. Among their children were William J. F (possibly William John Franklin) Williams, and Sarah Elizabeth "Bettie" Williams. It is believed that William J. F. Williams, always know as W.J. or John by our family members, married Amanda Elizabeth "Bettie" Lunsford and eventually settled and raised their family in Lauderdale County, Tennessee. William John Franklin Williams is thought to have died around 1896 in Lauderdale County, Tennessee. Sarah Elizabeth "Bettie" Williams is thought to have married an O'Saile (Hosale).
Tracing this paternal great grandfather line has been a brick wall for some time and any documented help would be much appreciated.

I am trying to find information about the parents of my great great grandfather, James C. Williams, born around 29 June 1842 in Tennessee. He moved to Missouri and married Martha G. Walton in Franklin Co, MO in 1867. Death certificate indicates that his father's name was William Williams, but no mother's name was listed.

If anyone has any information about this line from TN, I would greatly appreciate it. Williams is really a difficult name to trace.
