This
section is for people to post the various Williams lineages they
are working on. This is an effort to publicize that brick wall
you may or may not be hitting in hopes of finding others who either
have information or are at the same wall. This section is now in a database and to make surfing the entries easier, I have set it up to display 15 lineages at a time. Simply use the next and previous buttons to navigate around!
And, as another improvement to the site, you can now add your own lineage to the list without having to email me directly! Simply visit the lineage submission form and follow the instructions! It's as easy as that!

My lineage is from Samuel Williams to Benjamin Tyree Williams to William Slaughter Williams to Roland Samuel Williams to Donald Stewart Williams to Timothy Blair Williams. I live in Demopolis Alabama which is just about 30 minutes from Mt. Hermon where they are buried. What I'm really interested in is Samuel's family Parents and siblings. I think according to what I have found Samuel was born in 1780 in Anson Co. N.C. he was married to Esther Slaughter at some point they ended up in Alabama in what at that time was Greene Co. not it is Hale County.

We are trying to confirm any vital records of David Daniel Williams and any records regarding his parents. We believe David Daniel Williams was born to Daniel Williams and Anne Davies in Merthyr Tydfil or Cardiff or nearby in Wales on 19 July 1854. He claimed that when he was 9 years old, his father had died in a mining accident and his step-father mistreated him and was threatening to make him work in the mines. His mother helped him stow away on a boat taking race horses to America, leaving from Cardiff or nearby. He said that when he was discovered on the ocean that the men drew straws to see who would throw him overboard because he didn't have papers. The man who drew the deciding straw offered to get him into the country if he would work for him for 10 years. He did, of course, and learned the blacksmithing trade and rode as a jockey for 10 years. He was not very tall even as an adult. We believe this all happened in New York, where he joined the LDS church and helped bring two groups of saints west before settling in Utah Valley. He married Rosina Allen in Springville, Utah on 21September 1873 and they moved to Toquerville and then on to New Mexico and Arizona where he died on 17 Feb 1930 in Chandler, Mesa or Phoenix, AZ.

HAVE YOU LOST A WILLIAMS MALE RELATIVE FROM NEW YORK?
I am researching my son-in-law's ancestors. His grandfather was Francis Hugh Williams who was the son of Henry Y. Williams (causasian). (Family members say that the "Y" does not stand for any name.) Henry's family had little information about him. According to Henry's 1954 death certificate in Florida, he was born on 10/25/1878 in New York, New York and his parents were Hugh and Rebecca Williams. Information on Rebecca's maiden name is not available. Supposedly, he came from a large family; he left home at age 14; and he worked as a page in Congress. We don't know how long he was in Washington D. C. nor which congressman he may have worked for. We do not know whether he maintained any contact with his New York family. He eventually made his way to Florida where he married Alma Yates from Georgia. They lived for several years on a farm iin Georgia and their only child was Francis Hugh Williams. Henry was 41 years old when his son was born, which suggests he could have had a "previous life" before coming to Florida. Henry's last jobs were in Florida, including that of a caretaker at Miami's baseball stadium. Henry is buried in Dade County, Florida. If this sounds as if it could be a connection to your family, please contact me.

I am interested in learning more about the Williams family. My grandmother was Susan Williams Frasheur, daughter of Oliver Perry and Zillah Harris Williams. Perry Williams was born Dec. 05, 1825, place unknown and died June 1, 1880...buried in Montford's Cove Baptist Cem. in Rutherford Co., NC. I believe Perry's father was Norman Williams and his mother was Nancy Ledbetter Williams. I know that my Williams lived in McDowell and Rutherford Counties of NC but I can't find them before that. If you have anything on this Williams family, I sure would appreciate hearing from you.

I'm looking for any information about the father of Emanuel Williams, who was born about 1795 in Essex Co., VA, and who married Dorcas Rebecca Dill. The father is given as born about 1769. It is possible that he was born in VA or NC, and that his name was John, but no other info comes up. I'm especially interested in the country of origin.

I am currently stuck on John R Williams b 1834 in Darlington, SC. He was living in Bradford Co, FL, by 1861 - when his son Wiley was born. We believe the middle initial 'R' is for Randol or Randall. John married Argent Kelly. Recently, I came across some info that suggested John's father might be Jesse Williams married to Mary Campbell. Jesse was born and died in SC but I do not have any dates on him. From John R., my lineage is: John R, Wiley, Joseph Ephraim, Bryant J, my father. I would appreciate any help/info even if it is just to corroborate what I have

I am working on the the Benjamin WILLIAMS--born 13 Feb 1760 (spouse Martha "Patsy" HARRIS)--family of Edgecombe/Halifax/Granville Counties NC and later of Tennessee. I am especially interested in his son Harris WILLIAMS (spouse Asenath WILLIAMS). Not much has been done on this particular branch of Benjamin and Martha WILLIAMS' family.
Here is my Williams lineage from father to son (with wives' names) down to me (Joyce Williams Libes): Benjamin WILLIAMS & Martha "Patsy" Harris > Harris WILLIAMS & Asenath Williams > Benjamin L.J. WILLIAMS > & (1) Sarah Smith (2) Nancy Thaxton > Harris Benjamin WILLIAMS & Mrs. Malinda Frances "Fanny" Smith Osborn > Harris Benjamin "Harry" WILLIAMS & Elizabeth Zeilinger > Karl Benjamin WILLIAMS & Marceil Evans > Joyce Williams Libes (me) I have bible and census records which tie each generation one to the other except for Benjamin L.J. Williams to the first Harris WILLIAMS (spouse Asenath). However there is fairly good circumstantial evidence to show Benjamin L.J. Williams to be the son of Harris Williams (first by that name):
1. 1820 and 1830 NC census records show Harris Williams had children including a son the approximate age of Benjamin (b.ca 1814)
2. Both men were wagon makers
3. Both were born in NC and both resided in Montgomery Co. Tennessee in the 1850's
4. Both resided in Cheatham Co. Tennessee in 1860.
5. Harris Williams had siblings named Martha Ann, Plummer, Tippo, Benjamin, Jones, Etheldred, and Buckner [children of Benjamin and Martha Harris WILLIAMS]
6. **Benjamin had children named Martha Ann, Plummer, Laton and William [all b.NC], Harris [b.TN] , Mary, Elisabeth, Joseph & Albert [all b. IL]. All these children named were born to Benjamin and first wife Sarah P. SMITH who died 17 Nov 1854. Children born to 2nd wife Nancy THAXTON [married Montgomery Co. TN 15 March 1855] Sarah, Cora T. and Eunice.
7. In 1850 Benjamin was living in Christian Co. IL near Martha "Patsy" Harris Williams' 1/2 brother Silas Harris with Tippo Harris in same household also. (I believe Martha Harris Williams was Benjamin's grandmother,if so--Silas Harris would have been Benjamin's uncle and Tippo Harris his cousin.) After his 1st wife's death in 1854, Benjamin moved back to TN where Harris and Asenath Williams lived in Montomery Co. and married Nancy Thaxton in Montgomery Co. Tennessee 15 Mar. 1855.
**Benjamin Williams married Sarah P. Smith 30 May 1832 in Granville, NC -- according to LDS IGI record which would need to be documented for quality of the information. His 2nd marriage is listed in TENNESSEE MARRIAGES 1851-1900 by Jordan R. Dowd, Provo, UT (Ancestry.com) Daughter Sarah's family (from 2nd marriage) has said Benjamin disappeared while delivering a train of wagons to the Union Army during the Civil War. Another cousin descended from the first wife has a family bible with the date 1864 as the year of Benjamin's death. The bible did have exact dates but no locations for other entries. DAR application of Kathleen Fosco and LDS records were also used for dates and places.
