  This section is for people to post the various Williams lineages they are working on. This is an effort to publicize that brick wall you may or may not be hitting in hopes of finding others who either have information or are at the same wall. This section is now in a database and to make surfing the entries easier, I have set it up to display 15 lineages at a time. Simply use the next and previous buttons to navigate around!

This is my husband, Lance Williams' lineage. His grandfather was Kenneth Paul Williams (b. 1932 Lincoln Co., OK d. 2014 Oklahoma Co., OK), great grandfather was Olin J. Williams (b. 1911 Sevier Co. TN d. 1999 Payne Co., OK) , 2nd great grandfather was Samuel Marion Williams (b. 1869 Sevier Co. TN d. 1941 Lincoln Co., OK), 3rd great grandfather was Carroll Williams (b. 1849 Sevier Co. TN d. 1919 Sevier Co. TN), 4th great grandfather (we think) was John "Johnnie" Williams (b. 1813 Sevier Co. TN d. around 1849 Sevier Co. TN).

Curious to see if anyone has researched this line and figured out the lineage beyond Carroll Williams?

My Grandmother was Gertrude Amelia Williams (1880-1938), Port Providence, PA. Her Father was William Golden Williams (1849-1914) who married Harriet Emma Geary. His Father was Samuel Williams (1819-????)who married Sarah Patterson. Beyond that I have not been able to trace the Williams lineage.

other information for Polly found in 1900 US Census- Kemp Town Chicasaw, Nation Indian Territory.
My grandfather Seamore Williams b. Aug 26,1891- Oklahoma, Death Nov 22, 1971, served in WW1, PFC CO E 317 Engineer.
his parents were Polly and Joseph williams. Seamore married Katie or Katherine Barber " my grandmother"
Polly's father was Jerry Colbert from Virginia or NC ( to complicated to figure out). The only information on Joseph F Williams was that he was from North Carolina, nothing else about who his parents were.(dead end). My granfather Seamore had many bothers, Glendy Williams-1877,Shirley Williams-1890, Archie Williams-1887or1888?, and Ben Williams no date of birth found.

My paternal grandfather was John George Williams (born in 1875--Mendocino Co., CA and died in 1961--Stanislaus Co., CA and his wife was Elsie Laura Ellen Talbot). John George was the son of James Henderson Williams (born in 1828--Barren Co., KY and died in 1914--Humboldt Co, CA and his wife was Sarah Frances Rucker). James Henderson was the son of Jehiel Williams (born abt 1801--Wythe Co., VA and died in 1882-Northern California and his wife was Judith Booth, plus Ede Story and Mrs. Elizabeth Harold). Jehiel was the son of John Williams (born abt 1773--Loudoun Co., VA OR Wythe Co., VA died in 1810--Wythe Co., VA and his wife was Elizabeth Henderson). John was the son of Jenkin Williams (born abt 1740--Pennsylvania and died 1829 Smyth/Wythe Co., VA and his wife was Uriah Marks). Jenkin was the son of Richard Williams (born abt 1714 probably Pennsylvania or possibly Wales and died in 1797--Loudoun Co., VA and his wife was Margaret Jones).

Daniel Satterlee Williams born abt 1788 in Pennsylvania, died before 1860 probably in Hancock Co., KY; married Frances Chambers (b. abt 1789 KY, d. abt 1870 KY or IL) abt 1823 in KY. Can't find any info on Daniel, his siblings or parents, or his spouse. Their children were all born in Hancock Co., KY and ended up in Texas and Arkansas.

I am looking for the birthplace of my great great grandfather, Samuel Williams. He was a whaler and his nickname was "Yankee Sam" so we assume he was American or Canadian.

He was born about 1817 and came to Australia in the late 1830's and was employed as a whaler with Weller Bros of Sydney. In 1839 he was sent to New Zealand to establish a whaling shore station in Timaru.

In about 1850 he married Ann Manry (American? Irish? b 1825). We know even less about her! She seems to have been dropped from outer space! He left NZ about 1850 and went to the gold fields at Ballarat in Australia but in 1854 returned to New Zealand with a baby daughter, Rebecca. Her birth doesn't seem to have been recorded and no shipping records can be found. Later he had a son, William, my gt grandfather.

So, somewhere, probably in the US or Canada, there is a family that has lost track of a son born about 1817, last seen on a whaling ship bound for the Pacific.

Any leads to his, or Ann Manry's, identity would be hugely appreciated by all his desendants here in NZ.

James Williams born in Missouri in 1863 and died either in 1931 or 1932 in Joplin Missouri. Married
Maggie Rachel Jarnagin in Wise County Texas 8-16-1889. She died in 1927 in Phoenix Arizona.

1.Samuel Williams b. 1783 TN resided in Overton Co., TN with sons Ambrose Gore Williams b. 1814 TN, Alexander b. 1815, David, John B., James b. 1827, Samuel b. 1829, Joseph M. Samuel m. Clarissa Gore.
2.Thomas Williams b. 1785 m. Tabitha Gentry with sons: Hansford Williams, James Carroll, Wade Hampton, Commadore Decatur and John Henry.
3.David Williams b. 1787 a veteran of the War of 1812.
4.Alexander Williams b. 1790 - d. Washington Co., AR. with son Wade Hampton m. Refugia Unknown (CA Indian. Wade Hampton went to the CA gold fields and struck it rich and died in Kern Co., CA.
5. Frances E. Williams b. 1794 m. Eveline Unknown. He resided in AR but migrated to OK, I.T. in 1830s. One son Frances M. m. Sarah Fowler.
6 James Williams b. 1795 d. 1830 m. Sarah. They had Nathaniel B. and James Burton Williams. Widow migrated to MO.
7. Keeling/Keelen/Keelan/Keelon W. Williams b. 1797 prob. KY m. Mary Unknown. MIgrated to TX 1841 and had sons: Thomas Hansford, James S., John C., Francis C., Frances E., Alexander M., & Richard Hampton.
8. James M. Mary Ann Cureton. Had sons Ambrose & Alex.
