Williams Lineages Underway

This section is for people to post the various Williams lineages they are working on. This is an effort to publicize that brick wall you may or may not be hitting in hopes of finding others who either have information or are at the same wall. This section is now in a database and to make surfing the entries easier, I have set it up to display 15 lineages at a time. Simply use the next and previous buttons to navigate around!

And, as another improvement to the site, you can now add your own lineage to the list without having to email me directly! Simply visit the lineage submission form and follow the instructions! It's as easy as that!

The earliest Williams that I am connected to is a Jeptha Williams b. circa 1785-1790, d. before Mary 1, 1837. I believe that I have found 3 of Jeptha's daughters and maybe 2 other sons besides Hiram and Levi M.. Between 1845 and 1853 most of Jeptha's children and his wife Cynthia removed to the Jefferson Co., Illinois area, around the city of Rome.

By 1880 Lewis Jeptha Williams, son of Levi M. Williams removed to the South Eastern part of Kansas. His brother Hiram removed to Missouri not far from the Kansas state line. Two other brother James M. Williams and Charles Patton Williams also lived in both Kansas and Missouri at one time or another. They both are buried in Missouri.

The main Surnames that are attached to my family are: Rogers, Patterson, Jennings, Anderson and Straight.

I have spent a bunch of time reading all these posts.

1st. Someone needs to delete all those advertisement post off, they are endless and irritating. Besides taking up space and pages.

2nd. Jehu Williams from MO.??? Anyone heard of anyone named that? He is my dead end relative.

I cannot find anything about him at all. He married Elizabeth Roy,b. 11- Aug-1837 in Pulaski Co, KY, she passed Sept 1911 in Desdemona Tx. I can trace her line back to the Norvel Roy line.

They had a son Alonzo Jehu Williams. No info.

And a son George W. Williams b. MO d. 7-Mar-1902 in Coquidle OR. George's wife was Margaret Jane Lewis b. 11 or 13- Feb -1860, Grayson Co TX. She passed in Ohio, I am assuming they were divorced. George is my G Grandfather on my mothers side. They had two sons, James Matson Williams b. 12-Apr- 1881 who married (get this name) Pealy French Rassberry. And John Edward Williams b. 27- Apr- 1883 and I have no information on him. So if you have great grands that are them let me know, we have family that would like to get aquanted!!

I have never seen so many Williams in my life????? I tried reading them all, in hopes of finding a mention of Jehu, but I never did. I got up to the #400 records.

I am having better luck with the Lewis side of this family than I am with the Williams.

Please help me find any information at all on my grandfather Albert W Williams. He was born ~July 2, 1887 to John Williams and Mary Jones Williams probably in South Carolina. John was said to have been born in Georgia. Mary Jones was said to have been born in South Carolina. Albert died July 20, 1918 in NE Texas. He always talked about his brothers but never called them by their first names. He had three children Claude Williams, Christopher Columbus "Lum" Williams, and Ethel Mae Williams. Any information at all would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Good morning:

Mystery:

My Paternal G G G Grandmother Ester (Esther) Williams drew land in the 1821 land lottery and moved to Monroe County, GA. I have traced her linage forward but have been unable to find her marriage record in Georgia or North Carolina where my G G Grandfather, Reuben Williams was born in 1804 according to his headstone in Monroe County, Georgia.

Known data:

Ester Williams 1820 Warren County Census is listed as widow to John Williams who apparently was killed sometime between 1805 and 1820 as she drew land in Monroe County as a widow in the 1821 lottery. She lived in the Wilders Military District of Warren County as per the 1820 census. Her children on the 1820 census were Mary Williams (age 16-26), Jane Williams (age 10-16), Reuben Williams (my G G Grandfather) born in 1804 in North Carolina and died in Monroe County in 1880, and John R. Williams who drew land in Henry County in the 1821 land lottery. I have never located the marriage of John Williams to Ester (Esther) 'nee? in North Carolina or Georgia.

Thank you, kindly,

I am seeking the birthplace and parents of Daniel David Williams(1787-1846). Family tradition says he was born in Connecticut. We know he was in Hunterdon County NJ in the first decades of the 19th century where he met and married Anna Eick(1794-1867) daughter of Jacob and Margaret Apgar Eick. Daniel and Anna came with their family to Burdett NY then Tompkins County, now Schuyler County, on the hill near the south end of Seneca Lake in the Finger Lakes Region of NYS soon after 1823. They had nine children, the first son was named Solomon(1823-1880). His son was Charles Benton Williams(1860-1927) and Charles' first son was named Solomon which is why family tradition says Daniel's father was Solomon. Daniel and Anna are buried in the Burdett Presbyterian Church cemetery. They were my ggggrandparents and I have hit a brick wall trying to locate Daniel's parents. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
