Williams Lineages Underway

This section is for people to post the various Williams lineages they are working on. This is an effort to publicize that brick wall you may or may not be hitting in hopes of finding others who either have information or are at the same wall. This section is now in a database and to make surfing the entries easier, I have set it up to display 15 lineages at a time. Simply use the next and previous buttons to navigate around!

And, as another improvement to the site, you can now add your own lineage to the list without having to email me directly! Simply visit the lineage submission form and follow the instructions! It's as easy as that!

After 33 years of searching my great grandfather, DANIEL WILLIAMS, is still behind a brick wall somewhere??? He never wavered from saying he, and his father were born in Virginia. He married in Shelby County, MO. in 1858.too Mary elizabethe Snawder.
There is a MOSES WILLIAMS in Smyth County,VA. in the 1850 census, who has a 17 year son named Daniel.
Also Moses had a son named Charles, and a daughter named Margaret. In 1870 census in Smyth Co. VA. Moses is head of household, with Margaret and her husband, Samuel Robinson living with her father,MOSES WILLIAMS. Can anyone help me with this family?? I am pretty well convinced this my ancestor.
My Daniel, born ca 1833, named a son, Moses, and another son, Charles.
Daniel supposedly died somewhere in western Kansas and I have not been able to find any record of him there.

Hi, my brickwall is John Williams and his wife Jane. They were originally from Wales but immigrated in 1860.

Their son Isaac Ventnor Williams was born May 20 1850 in Wales and died about 1922 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, he married Annie Elizabeth Brigham d/o William and Jane (Steele) Brigham and they had nine children.

Joseph Anderson Williams born September 10th 1872
Isaac Ventnor St.George (born St.George) born April 23rd 1875
Worswick Ovo (Vicinage?) Otto Williams born April 18th 1877
Elizabeth J. (probably Jane) Williams born 1878
Wilberforce Beaconsfield Fenwick Bulwar born April 22nd 1882
Walter G. or H. (if G, probably George) born 1884
Valentine (twin) born May 30th 1886
Edwin Stead Hanover (twin) born May 30 1886
and Winnifred Jane Letitia Jessie born July 25th 1891

Joseph married Letitia J. (probably Jessie) McMenonmy

Isaac Ventnor St.George married Elizabeth Bodie Smith d/o John and Margaret "Maggie" (Bodie?) Smith. They had two children, Ivor Ventnor Ovo Roycroft (initials spell I.V.O.R, his mother apparently had a real sense of humor) born 1907 Vancouver BC Canada, and Eva born 1909 also in Vancouver BC Canada. Ivor married Elizabeth Helen Macdonald 1915-2000 d/o Neil John and Dolly (Maclean) Macdonald, they had three childen all living, he died in 1979 of Heart Disease. Eva moved to California and married Bill (William) Lindquist. They had four children, all (probably) still living. Last known address was in Danville California.

Worswick Ovo married Alice. They had no children, if I remember correctly they couldn't have children. They resided with Isaac and family.

Wilberforce Beaconsfield Fenwick Bulwar married Ethel May Plaskitt, it is unknown at this time if they had children. Wilberforce and his wife were still alive in 1944 because they were mentioned as living in the Obituary of Ethel's father.

Ryan M. Williams
great-grandson of Ivor Ventnor Ovo Roycroft Williams

I am searching for my 2nd Great Grandfather's family.
His name was Joseph H. Williams and he was born in New Brunswick Canada in 1850. He married Jane Bartlett of New Brunswick Canada and they had three sons one of them being my Great Grandfather Talbert M. Williams who was born in St John New Brunswick Canada on Oct. 4, 1878. Jane died and Joseph's second marrige was to Delia Smith on May 13, 1885 in Houlton ME. Both were residing in Woodstock NB at the time. They had atleast seven more children from this marrige. The names of some of the children were Leo, Westley, William, Beatrice, Rose, Stella, and Hilda. Joseph Died in Chapman or Mapleton ME in 1929.

I have been unable to find any information on Joseph's parents, grandparent, etc and I presume they were from New Brunswick Canada.

My great grandfather was Melville Williams. He was born to Jeremiah and Rebecca Lindsay Williams in Jay, IN in 1856. Melville died in Bieber, CA in 1920. Jeremiah was the son of Isaac B. and Martha S. White Williams of Bucks, PA. Jeremiah was born in 1824 in PA and died in 1892 in Lookout, CA. Isaac was the son of Jeremiah and Mary Blackledge Williams of Bucks, PA. Isaac was born in 1794 and died in Kingston, Caldwell, MO in 1869. Jeremiah was the son of Benjamin and Mercy Stevenson Williams. Jeremiah was born in PA/NJ in 1749 and died in Bucks, PA in 1834. Benjamin was the son of Jeremiah and Mary Newbuery Howland Williams of Hempstead, NY and Hunterdon, NJ. Benjamin was born in 1722 in Hempstead, NY.
Jeremiah is a bit of the brick wall. His memorial from the Kingwood MM places his birth year around 1683. He was a Quaker in RI in 1706 and then moved to Philly and later NY. A family biography for Bucks County, PA lists Jeremiah's parents as Joseph and Lydia Williams. This may be partly based on the Boston Records which list a Jeremiah Williams being born to Joseph and Lydia Williams on 3 Aug 1683. I am looking for further evidence on this.
