Williams Lineages Underway

This section is for people to post the various Williams lineages they are working on. This is an effort to publicize that brick wall you may or may not be hitting in hopes of finding others who either have information or are at the same wall. This section is now in a database and to make surfing the entries easier, I have set it up to display 15 lineages at a time. Simply use the next and previous buttons to navigate around!

And, as another improvement to the site, you can now add your own lineage to the list without having to email me directly! Simply visit the lineage submission form and follow the instructions! It's as easy as that!

I am seeking a researcher of the John Williams Jr. family of Caswell County, NC and Bedford County, TN. John was married twice and it is his second wife that I am interested in. Her name was Nancy Byrams b. 1807. She was a widdow, so the Byrams name is probably a married name. She is in my mtDNA direct line and I need her maiden name. I would greatly appreciate any help. Thanks

My Great, Great, Great, Grandfather was Joel W. Williams born in Tennessee April 7, 1829 and died January 24, 1908 in Alabama. He married to Nancy D. McMurray who was the daughter of Solomon McMurray and Mary "Polly" Walker. I know that according to the 1880 census that his mother and father where both born in North Carolina, and he was born in Tennessee, but have
not been able to find out who his parents were, and can't go any farther back on him. If anyone has any information on my Joel, I would greatly appreciate hearing from you, and will gladly share any information that I have with you.

I am following up on new leads for my Blaney Williams (1821-1877) being the son of William WILLIAMS b. 1794 d. April 1850 Duplin County, NC purported married to Elaney JONES Williams who died after 1860 Duplin County, NC purported to be the daughter of James JONES & Ann JARMAN JONES. Here is where it gets sketchy
supposely William Williams was the son of Jacob WILLIAMS. There was a Jacob "Maple Jacob" WILLIAMS who married Mary OUTLAW WILLIAMS. There are two possible sets of parents for this Jacob WILLIAMS
John WILLIAMS and Priscilla BARNES WILLIAMS and George WILLIAMS & Tabitha (possibly WRIGHT) WILLIAMS...
But from undocumented sources it was purported that Jacob was the son of Richard WILLIAMS and wife-Robetha_______________of Brunswick County, North Carolina
Blaney had brothers:Edward, Calvin, Starkey, William Branch,
sisters Barbara and Mary Ann both married SMITH men.
Blaney WILLIAMS married Frances Ann KORNEGAY, and Mary Catherine HOUSTON KORNEGAY. He was a farmer and Justice of the Peace for Duplin County, NC. His son, J. B. WILLIAMS b. 1858 migrated to ARKANSAS near Lavaca or Sebastian County, ARKANSAS finally ending up in Leflore County, OKLAHOMA sons Francis, John D. and Thomas WILLIAMS.
My ancestor James Cicero WILLIAMS remained in Duplin County, NC marrying Nancy ANN OUTLAW.

There was a lot of intermarrying w/ WILLIAMS and SMITH families of Duplin-Jones Counties in eastern North Carolina.

In 1913, De. 04, Wilhelm BUCHTERKIRCHE, born Jan 04, 1899 from Bremen, Germany immigrated in New York City, where he lived at his uncle Herman BRINKS. In Dec 12, 1922 he married Hertha UHLIG in Manhattan, NY. At this time they changed their names; Wilhelm BUCHTERKIRCHE was called later on Frederich WILLIAMS, his wife took the first name of her dead mother Helen. They had 4 children, a daugther died in N.Y.C. at the age of 4 months. Their three sons are Robert (born about 1922), Fredrich (born about 1925) and Howard (perhaps born about 1939 in Yonkers, NY).

Robert has/had one son, Robert WILLIAMS, Jr. Robert WILLIAMS, Sen. lived in Yonkers, NY and later moved to Florida for his rentirement.
Fredrich (Freddy) WILLIAMS was married with Kathyn KELLY (born about 1920), they had one son, named Fredrich WILLIAMS, born around 1962. Freddy lived in Whitestone, Queens, NY and died at the age of 65.
Howard WILLIAMS has/had 3 childrens, one son and one daughter (all born later than 1965). His last known residence was in Riverhead, Long Island, NY.

Any help in location this WILLIAMS line would be greatly appreciated.

Francis Marion WILLIAMS aka Frank M. Williams, md Susan Jones (b. IA). Their daughter, Mary S. WILLIAMS is my ggmother. The family lived in White County TN part of the time. Mary married (1) Duffy Jones, with one child Herbert born; (2) A.B.Chapel (Chappell) of Hopkins County, KY with three daughters born; (3) William Stokes. I have family information that Frank/Francis Marion Williams was named after the Swamp Fox of the Battle of 1812, Francis Marion. I am seeking information about the family of Frank and Susan Williams. They appear in the 1880 Census for White Co, TN, and nowhere else that I have been able to locate. The 1880 census record indicates Frank M. WILLIAMS' father was born in NC, and that Frank was 40 yrs old. Susan, his wife, was 28. Their four children were Elam L. (age 9yrs, b. MO); Loretta J. (age 7yrs, b. MO); Mary S. (age 3yrs, b. MO); and John F. (11 mos, b. TN). Frank M. WILLIAMS may have had another family, which I am seeking to verify.

During my search for my Williams relatives I have found, in a local cemetery, three Williams graves. I haven't been able to connect them to my line yet, but I do feel that they are in some way connected. I wanted to post the names and dates here in the hope that somebody might have information on them. Maybe if they aren't connected to my line, they will be connected to somebody who has been searching for them. All three are buried in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Iuka, MS.
