Williams Lineages Underway
This
section is for people to post the various Williams lineages they
are working on. This is an effort to publicize that brick wall
you may or may not be hitting in hopes of finding others who either
have information or are at the same wall. This section is now in a database and to make surfing the entries easier, I have set it up to display 15 lineages at a time. Simply use the next and previous buttons to navigate around!
And, as another improvement to the site, you can now add your own lineage to the list without having to email me directly! Simply visit the lineage submission form and follow the instructions! It's as easy as that!

I am looking for any families of Jim Williams and Alice Johnson Williams once of Louisiana. They were parents of at least one son named Robert Williams DOB 10/13/1915 Died in New Mexico in 1985. He was married in the 1950's to Evelyn Johnson Williams (pretty sure of the name). They had 6 children as far as I know. There names are Roberta Ann, Bonnie Sue, Betty Marie, Ella Louise now Sandra Lynn (my mother), Robert Lee (deceased as a baby) and one more daughter( I don't know her name) born 02/21/1957 (pretty sure of the date). The daughters listed here were all given up for adoption in Monroe, Louisiana. By the end of 1959 they were all dispersed to adoptive families. There have been quite a few news stories about them in Louisiana, since 2003 there have been 3 reunions of 4 of the sisters but we are desparetly still seeking the last sister. Not knowing her name has made this our biggest challenge yet. I am thinking that if we find any of Jim and Alice's family including any of Roberts siblings they could help us with info on the last missing sister or what might have gone so wrong. If you know anything that would help we would really appreciate any help we could get.

My great grandfather Evan Williams apparently came from Wales ... during Texas War of Independence he apparently served in the Texas Navy ... he married Margaret Pierce (Pearce) and lived in Travis County Texas ... one of his sons was David Riley Williams aka David Raleigh Williams aka David Raleigh Morris Williams ... he married Fannie Lee Reeves... one of their sons was Albert David Williams (b. 1893 Travis County Texas) ... he married Viola Ray Cravey (Bandera County, Texas) in 1915 ... to this union was born Morris Joseph Williams in Lampasas County Texas ... this was my father
My grandmother Viola Ray Cravey ... father was Fletcher Cravey ...mother was Ava Lena Stevens ...
Ava Lena Stevens father was Tom Stevens ... her mother was Margaret Jones ... the Jones Stevens families lived near each other on Myrtle Creek, near Bandera, Bandera County, Texas
The Craveys came from South Carolina, through TN, KY, Ill, MO, Ark to Bandera County, Texas ... with them were the Capps family ...
My great grandmother Fannie Lee Reeves was born to Charles Armstrong Reeves and Alcie Ann Ivey ... Charles Armstrong Reeves was son of Green B. Reeves and Sarah Jane Johnson ... these people were mainly from Hays County Texas and Gonzales Co Texas
my brick wall is Evan Williams in Travis County and before ... as I said above there is family legend that Evan Williams served in Texas Navy and was from Wales ... there is evidence that an Evan Williams married a Margaret Pierce in Travis County ... that an Evan Williams served in Texas Navy and that this man was from Wales ... but I haven't much other than that ... I'm looking for information on Mary Williams (and her lineage), I believe her father was Franklin (Frank) Williams, but not sure. She married a Charles Titus Thayer (born 3/10/1853) in Palmyra NY (don't know date) and had four children (Edward Selden, Sarah E., Melliard and Hanna D.). My great uncle, Edward Selden believed we were related to William Williams, signer of the Declaration and I assume it would have to come through Mary.
Thanks,
Jon

I am trying to prove a link between JOHN WILLIAMS (1640-1692?) and his wife ANNE WHITLEY who married around 1670 and settled in Isle of Wight County, Virginia, and my proven ancestor NICHOLAS WILLIAMS (September 1679-18 August 1749). Nicholas married ANNE LEWIS (27 August 1684-15 October 1760) on 24 February 1703-4 in Little Town, Southampton County, Virginia. Their tenth child was BENJAMIN A. WILLIAMS (30 December 1726-12 June 1787) who married MARY CARR. From here my ancestors were: ETHELBERT CARR WILLIAMS (12 September 1779-9 December 1853) who married LUCY WASHINGTON (19 March 1781-29 April 1835); DR. GEORGE AUGUSTIN WILLIAMS (24 March 1804-1 January 1892) who married NANCY SANFORD WILLIAMS (24 September 1816-23 July 1868); GEORGE AUGUSTIN WILLIAMS Jr. (1 January 1843-17 September 1923) who married ELIZABETH HERNDON JONES (9 December 1843-7 January 1901); JAMES MONROE WILLIAMS (17 March 1870-13 December 1919) who married BESSIE MAE GREEN (24 May 1882-3 June 1924); and NICHOLAS MONROE WILLIAMS (8 April 1904-26 March 1982) who married VIRGINIA MARIE BLUNDELL (8 September 1915- 3 January 1994). Locations these ancestors settled in were: Littletown, Southampton County, Virginia; Blackjack (Lamont), Robertson County, Tennessee; Sturges, Livingston County, Missouri; and Long Beach and Clearwater (Paramount), Los Angeles County, California. I would love to hear from anyone who has information on my ancestors so that we can share data.

I am looking for the parents of James Williams born abt. 1787 in Virginia married Sarah Ruggles in Kentucky in 1820. He died in KY around 1875. I am descended from his son Silas born in 1830 who married Sindarilla Wilburn. Their son John Breckinridge Williams was my great grandfather.
I have seen several sources listing John Philip Williams aka Philip Wilhelm Williams and Catherine Harmon as his parents but these records are inconsistent. In fact I have seen two definite sets of children for these same parents. I know Philip had at lease two wives. Is it possible he had a third?
