Williams Lineages Underway

This section is for people to post the various Williams lineages they are working on. This is an effort to publicize that brick wall you may or may not be hitting in hopes of finding others who either have information or are at the same wall. This section is now in a database and to make surfing the entries easier, I have set it up to display 15 lineages at a time. Simply use the next and previous buttons to navigate around!

And, as another improvement to the site, you can now add your own lineage to the list without having to email me directly! Simply visit the lineage submission form and follow the instructions! It's as easy as that!

I am looking for Isaac H. Williams born in North Carolina in about 1804 and the first time he appears in a census is in 1850 census of South Nashville, Davidson, Tennessee. He married Clarienda McCoy who was born about
1816 in North Carolina. It is not know whether they married in NC or TN. Their children were: Isaac newton B:1836, TN; Robert T. B: 1838, TN; Amanda M. B: 1840, TN; Thomas I. B: 1841, TN; Clarinda B: 1846, TN; James Henry B: 29 Feb. 1848, TN. What happened to children other than Clarinda & James Henry is not known.
The family moved to Cole City, Dade, Georgia between 1850 & 1860 which often carried a Marion County, TN mailing address. Isaac Newton did not move with them. Clarinda married Martin VanBuren Webb from nearby Marion County, TN and they moved to Oklahoma. James Henry married Henrietta Brewer Bice which is my direct line. It is presumed that Isaac H. & his spouse are buried in State Line Cemetery in Marion County, TN.

Can anyone help me with information about Martha Huffman who married Henderson May Williams(he was born May 7, 1850 in Dewitt County). So they probably married in the early 1870's. They had one son, Timothy J. Williams but they divorced. She lived in Mexico for a while. She remarried a Mr. Davis and had several more children. I believe she married again. But if any of the Huffman family members can provide any information about her or her children, I would appreciate them getting in touch with me. I am most interested in tracing Tim Williams' life, through the Huffman (his mother's)line. Thank you.

I am looking for Stephen B. Pelham who married Mary Polly Williams. Mary Polly was born in Dallas County Alabama. The two were married in 1823 and later moved to somewhere in Texas, this is according to William Williams will.

Mary Polly's brother George Williams married Sarah "Sally" Pelham. Any information on this side of the family would also be helpful.

Nancy Elizabeth Williams b. 9 Dec 1798 in KY d. 12 Feb 1896 Chunky, Newton Co., MS m. William G. Bartlett 5 Sep 1827 Lauderdale, AL. Child: Arnold , Unk. son, Unk. son, Mary Jane , L. Elizabeth , Louisa Charlotte, William Green,Jr., Zuritha Emily

Nancy and William are my gggrandparents. Newton Co. MS Historical Society have furnished me a lot of info on this family but all they say about Nancy Elizabeth Williams is that she is believed to have been the d/o John Franklin Williams. It is believed that the 2 unk. sons were probably in the Civil War.

Their grandaughter was my grandmother and the family lore was that there was Cherikee Indian in our family past. Nancy's picture looks like she could possibly be part Indian. Any help please?

I am looking for Isaac H. Williams who was born in North Carolina in about 1804. He married Clarienda McCoy also born in NC in about 1816. They were married on about 1834 in either TN or NC. The first record is their appearance in South Nashville, Davidson, Tennessee in the 1850 census. Their children listed were: James henry Williams B: 29 Feb 1828, TN; Amanda M. Williams B; 1840, TN; Thomas I. Williams B; 1841, TN; Clarinda Williams B; 1846, TN; Robert T. Williams B; 1838, TN & Isaac newton Williams B: 1836, TN. Their 1860 appearance puts them in Dade County, GA in the Cole City region where Isaac was a barkeeper. Isaac Newton did not appear with them. In 1870 only Isaac H. Williams and his son James Henry Williams are at home. Isaac is retired and James, my great grandfather, is a carpenter. I would like to correspond with you if this line looks like yours. I recently took the ancestry.com DNA test but do not have the results back yet.

Timothy J. Williams. His parents were Martha Huffman and Henderson May Williams. Near or around Refugio, Goliad or maybe Rockport, Texas, where I believe he is buried. Exact dates are unknown but around the late 1880's or 1890's. They divorced and each re-married. Apparently, Tim lived with his maternal grandparents (Huffman) in Mexico until grown. He lived in Texas until his death at a young age. I'm looking for his birth and death certificates and any other information concerning him. He taught schhol, taught music, and did photography. Never married. I have a complete family history on his father. i will be glad to share.
Thank you. My email is southernbeth@sbcglobal.net
