Williams Lineages Underway
This
section is for people to post the various Williams lineages they
are working on. This is an effort to publicize that brick wall
you may or may not be hitting in hopes of finding others who either
have information or are at the same wall. This section is now in a database and to make surfing the entries easier, I have set it up to display 15 lineages at a time. Simply use the next and previous buttons to navigate around!
And, as another improvement to the site, you can now add your own lineage to the list without having to email me directly! Simply visit the lineage submission form and follow the instructions! It's as easy as that!

My Great Grandmother, Lena Electa WILLIAMS FETTERS (16 Dec 1866 - 05 Oct 1916)was born probably in Scioto County, OH and died in Meigs Township, Adams County, OH and is buried at the Jay Bird cemetery there. Electa married Abraham Lincoln FETTERS in Greenup, KY on 25 Dec 1877. She was the daughter of John WILLIAMS (born ca 1810 & died between the 1870 and 1880 Censuses) and Jane OSBORN (born 1827 to 1835 & died after the 1880 Census), both apparently life long residents of Scioto County, OH.
The other children of John and Jane (and, as they married in 1851, perhaps an earlier spouse of each were):
1-Mary (James) MARTIN, b-1848/9
2-Thomas Jefferson MEAD, b-1851 (m2-Cora Belle FETTERS GUMBERT)
3-Mira (John Jr.) GREEN, b-1853 to 1855
4-Rebecca Jane (John) MARTIN,? b-1855/6
5-Elmer E. WILLIAMS, b-1862 (with brothers to Marion County, OH about 1900)
6-Lena Electa WILLIAMS (above)
7-William WILLIAMS, b-1867
8-Alma (Charles E.) SISLER, b-1870
9-Albert WILLIAMS, b-ca 1870/1
A granson of Elmer E. Williams (5 above), a Donald WILLIAMS of Marion, OH provided the sample for Y-DNA analysis.
I have absolutely no info as to the ancestry of John and Jane (OSBORN) WILLIAMS of Scioto County, OH, and would appreciate any help. So far, there has been no match in the Y-DNA of another WILLIAMS.

I don't know alot about my Williams grandparents or even my great great grand parents and was happy to find this site to enter my info on. I wish all of you other Williams researchers out there the best of luck.
This is what I do know:
Great grandpa - LEWIS HENRY WILLIAMS -was born in 1840 in Sparta, Ohio. I do not know anything at all about his parents or siblings. He married Elizabeth (louisa) Zent. He died 1-22-1918 and is buried in Mount View cemetery in McBain, Michigan. His stone says CoF 18 U.S. INF. and his death record in the Missaukee county courthouse in Lake City states that he was widowed and a retired soldier.
ELIZABETH ZENT -was born the daughter of MARTIN and MARIA (Evans) ZENT in 1838 in Ohio. I have heard that Elizabeth is buried in the MIDDLE BRANCH cemetery in Marion, Michigan but I don't know that for sure.. That is close to where they lived.
I don't know when they got married.
On the 1870 census for Hilliar Twp Ohio pg 25 it list MARTIN & MARIA ZENT in the first household on that page. The following entry is LEWIS H WILLIAMS 31, wife LOUISA E 32,STEPHAN 11, LEWIS 4 AND ROZELLA 1.
My grandpa MARTIN AUTHO CLIFFORD WILLIAMS was the son of Lewis & Elizabeth. He was born 3-6-1871 in Sparta Ohio and died 2-22-1943 in Wexford County Cadillac, Michigan. He is also buried in the Mount View cemetery in McBain, Michigan. He had been married to Adelaide Victoria Hadley Buchanan. Adelaide had 5 children by her first husband and then 7 by Martin.
I did find on a census report for 1910 for Haring twp Wexford county Cadillac, Michigan that there was a CHARLES BRADLEY, WIFE ROSELLA, and four children that lived next to Martin and Adelaide, so I believe that was great grandpa Lewis' daughter and her family.
I really don't know anything much more then this. I would like to find out any more information at all and would love it if you could help me out. I will do what ever reseaarch I can to help you out in return.
thanks Sue

John H. Williams married Martha Addington o4 june 1808 in Charleston, SC. She was his second wife. The first one was Mary Elizabeth Burton about 1795 in KY. We can not find the parents of John H. or anything about him. He is believed to have 3 brothers: David, b.1773; Isaac,b.1779 and, Mason b.1781. I am his 4th GGSon via his daughter Martha Jane who married Moses J. Wages in 1843 in Madison Co. Arkansas. Her sister, Mary Caroline Polly Williams married Benjamin Franklin Wages , the brother of Moses in 1840 in Madison Co. Arkansas.I know about the children of his first marriage to some extent. I also know all about the Indian blood lines of both the Williams sisters and their Wages husbands. However nothing can be found about John H and his past, except that his father may have been John Williams b.1755 married to Hannah b. 1757, but that is mere comjecture.

I am researching my grandmother Arlene (Williams - maiden name) from Cooperstown, North Dakota. She was born in Cooperstown, ND to Fred E. Williams (and Elizabeth M. Fenner). Her brothers and sisters include: Lucille, Barry, Daisy, Fred, Rolland, Kenneth, Manfred, and Arleen.
Is anyone related or know anything about the Williams from North Dakota?
the only thing i've found is a nowegian heritage: a Mr. Williams born in Norway September 16, 1858 (used to be called Williamson?) and came to USA at age 12 years settling in Ferryville, WI. In the spring of 1882 he came to Milnor, ND and filed on a homestead three miles south of town. He then went to Minnesota and at Lake PArk was united in marriage to Miss Caroline Austin on 12/21/1882. In spring of 1883, they came to Milnor and located on their homestead where they resided for 16 years. Their children include: Alfred (Fred), Selmer, Clarence, and Ella. Can anyone confirm anything about this family, too? Please contact Susan Kossey kosseys@comcast.net
