Williams Lineages Underway

This section is for people to post the various Williams lineages they are working on. This is an effort to publicize that brick wall you may or may not be hitting in hopes of finding others who either have information or are at the same wall. This section is now in a database and to make surfing the entries easier, I have set it up to display 15 lineages at a time. Simply use the next and previous buttons to navigate around!

And, as another improvement to the site, you can now add your own lineage to the list without having to email me directly! Simply visit the lineage submission form and follow the instructions! It's as easy as that!

I have hit a brickwall,if you could help me I would appreciate it. Rosina Williams was born about 1832 in Virginia, according to the 1850 Knox County, IN census. She lived on the McCLure farm as a servant and had a child out of wedlock in 1853. This child was Hamilton Williams who died in Wheatland, Knox County, IN in 1924. Rosina Williams was still in Knox county, Indiana according to the 1860 census, but nothing after that. Does anyone have a Rosina (or Regina or Rozina or Rose) Williams that would fit these times and places

My brick wall is with my great great grandfather, Austin S. Williams, born 1/4/1830, Wayne County, North Carolina, died 6/1/1901, Wilson County, North Carolina. Parents are Daniel Williams and Peggy ?. Wife #1 Nancy Thomas, Wife # 2 Mourning Garris.
I have everything and more from 1860 forward ... am missing anything about where he came from. Could have been born in Duplin County, North Carolina rather than Wayne.

I am seeking information regarding the Williams lineage for John L. Williams in Alton, Halifax County, VA. JOhn was born in 1852, and was married to Winnifred Vaughn Green (aka Winnie). Two sons are known to be George Heague Williams and Nathaniel Williams. I suspect that John L. may have been in the Heague household in Person or Halifax Counties, prior to his marriage.

John Williams was listed in the household of Dennis and America Heague in the 1870, Mount Carmel census for Halifax County, VA. He was 18 years old, and is clarified as being a farm hand at that time.

The 1870 Heague household included:
William- 10
John- 6
Bettie (or Billie) FEMALE- 4

I can't find the birth dates and places and marriage date and place for David HARRIS and Thankful WILLIAMS. My first record is the birth of their daughter, Eliza HARRIS, my great grandmother b. 12 Mar 1817 in Charlemont, Franklin Co., MA. She m. 30 Aug 1837 Dwight BROWN, b. 24 Nov 1813 d. 13 Sep 1897 in Rowe,Franklin Co., MA and my BROWN records are straight down to me. Their marriage was 30 Aug 1837 either in Charlemont or Rowe (they're adjoining towns), Franklin Co., MA. I have the published Vital Records for Charlemont which list other children for David and Thankful born in Charlemont from 1810 to 1822. but they do not list the birth, marriage or death for either David HARRIS or Thankful WILLIAMS. I cannot find birth, marriage or death for either one in Massachusetts. The last Federal Census listing for them is 1860 in Charlemont, ages 79 and 76. I cannot find them in the 1870 Federal Census, so presume they were deceased by then. My HARRIS and WILLIAMS families do not appear to be related to the records in this database, but as I have not been able to find them in Massachusetts, I am now looking elsewhere. I am aware of the Thankful WILLIAMS/DENISON connection, but do not believe that applies, although my BROWN line does connect with a DENISON line. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

JOSEPH CHARLES WILLIAMS b. either PA or IRE about 1827. Lived in New Orleans, LA with wife ROSE SWIFT and children Alice, Edward, Charles, Viola Rose, Mary Jane and Estelle. JOSEPH died by 1873, as did ROSE. Looking for other descendents of their children (I am descended from Estelle (Stella). I know Viola Rose and Mary Jane both eventually died in workhouses. Estelle (and for a time, Mary Jane) grew up in an orphanage in New Orleans. Alice, Edward and Charles disappeared. Would love info on JOSEPH particularly, but also about any possible descendents.
