Williams Lineages Underway

This section is for people to post the various Williams lineages they are working on. This is an effort to publicize that brick wall you may or may not be hitting in hopes of finding others who either have information or are at the same wall. This section is now in a database and to make surfing the entries easier, I have set it up to display 15 lineages at a time. Simply use the next and previous buttons to navigate around!

And, as another improvement to the site, you can now add your own lineage to the list without having to email me directly! Simply visit the lineage submission form and follow the instructions! It's as easy as that!

I am searching for any information on the father of my half-sisters. His name was W. Frank Williams and he went by "Frank". He was born 11 Jun 1883 in Ithaca, Thompkins Co, NY. His father was Horatio Williams and his mother was Mary Hazelton. Both parents are said to have been born in Ireland.

As a young man, Frank studied for the priesthood, but did not complete his studies. Nothing is known about him until 1923 when he married our mother, Ada Florence Rose on 10 Nov 1923. Ada lived around Milan, Sumner Co., Ks. Frank and Ada had two daughters. Mary Emily was born 1924, and Virginia Clare was born 1926, both in Milan, Ks. It is believed that Frank was an FBI agent or some sort of lawman in Kansas around this time.He died 11 Apr 1927 at Corbin, Sumner Co., Kansas.

"Frank" has been a solid brick wall in my research. I have not been able to find him in any census or other records. I would appreciate any information, leads or help that anyone can give me. Thanks.

My first, is actually fairly well documented many generations back, but of course there is always more to learn.

Richard Williams b. c. 1692 in PA m. Margaret Eaton-Jones (or Jones-Eaton, I am not 100% sure.) b. c 1697 in Wales.
There son William Williams b. 1719 in Guinedd, PA m. Margaret Evans b. 1721 Guinedd, PA. This line has Captain Isaac Williams (my 5g-grandfather) who served in the Tennessee Militia during the War of 1812/ Creek Indiana Wars. There have been a few books written about this family, some of which are available online at http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~williamshistory/.

My other line has me at the brick wall. I know for sure of John R. Williams b. Dec. 31, 1924 or Jan 1, 1925 d. 7/8/1873 m. (1)Evaline Hopping (2)Franics Matilda Hopping, Evaline's sister. John and Francis's daughter Hattie A. E. Williams (my 2g-grandmother) married Clay Dunkin. I think, but have not confirmed, that John's parents were George and Rhoda (??) Williams. I think also that John R. had a sister named Rachael who m. George Cannaday.
